Vita Mixta: Rooted at Subiaco, Living Benedict in the World explores what it means to live the Oblate vocation beyond the walls of the monastery. Through three conferences, we will trace the development of monastic spirituality from its biblical and desert roots through St. Benedict and the tradition of Subiaco Abbey; consider the distinctive vocation of the Oblate as one who carries the spirit of the monastery into family, parish, work, and the wider world; and explore the practical Benedictine rhythm of ora, labora et lege (prayer, work, and sacred reading). Together, we will discover how vita mixta, the integration of contemplation and action, offers Oblates a way to remain rooted in the monastery while living the wisdom of St. Benedict wherever God has planted them.

For commuters, and overnight guests this price includes dinner on the 9th. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner on the 10th. Breakfast, and lunch on the 11th.
